Apple Photos Questions

Hello,

I’ve tried searching on the site and around these forums for info on how to best use Tropy with photos that are in an Apple Photos library and I’ve not really found anything definitive. Is this even possible?

When I click import my libraries are not selectable and when I try to drag and drop, Apple Photos exports a low-res version of the photo so that what is available in Tropy is very poor quality.

My understanding is that the devs recommend exporting these photos to a different location and using those as the source for Tropy’s database. Is there a way to use Tropy with an Apple Photos library natively?

Hi,
while you can use the ‘Show Package Contents’ option in Finder to track down and use the original images of the Apple Photos library, we do not recommend this approach as Apple changes the structure of that library every once in a while.
