after I imported a bunch of images into Tropy & gave them metadata & combined them & tagged them - basically they are all dressed up & ready to work for me! - I realize that I moved the folder where some of the files were located when I imported them & so the links are broken. How do I fix those? OR do I have to re-import everything again? I really really hope not!

There is a chapter on moving photos in the user manual.
Basically, just consolidate one photo via the context menu in the photo panel: when the file was successfully re-associated and provided the file name has not changed, Tropy will ask if you would like to automatically resolve other missing photos. If you just moved the folder this should fix all the links in one go.
