I had an old Advanced Tropy file that I created in 2020 that I wanted to transition to a new computer. It was saved in my local Documents folder and the photos were linked to a folder in BoxSync. I converted it to a Standard file and saved the new Tropy file in Box Sync. My understanding was that this conversion would take the image files that were previously located externally via file paths INTO the file so that I could freely open the file across devices and Clouds.
Now, both files (the original Advanced and the new Standard) show all images with “Photo not found”. Nothing happened when I attempted to consolidate the whole project. I have approx. 8,000 images in here so avoiding having to do this manually would be paramount. Anything I can do here?
The conversion can only work if all files are fully consolidated beforehand. If that’s not the case then images may be missing in the converted project. In either case, the conversion does not alter the original project.
If you still have your original project file and you have not moved the photos, it will probably be easiest to start there. If you share the file with us and explain where the files are on your disk we’ll be happy to take look!
Hi, thanks for your assistance. I had access to the photos in the original file before conversion, but now do not. I’ve attached it. The photos are stored in subfolders in a BoxSync folder “Research Visits.” Hopefully you can see something in here I can’t!
