Deleting Dead Tags

Hi!

Thanks again for this great software–I use and appreciate it daily!

I’m wondering if there is a way to delete all of my old tags that no longer correspond to an item. I’m doing it manually, but to make matters worse, I can’t use the up/down arrows to scroll the tag highlighter up/down–as it is the up/down buttons just kind of scroll the view of the tags. (I hope this makes sense).

I have about 3,000-5,000 tags for about 1,000 items, so I’m really stretching the organizational potential of Tropy.

Yes, you’re not alone: the tag list in the sidebar is one where our initial UI concepts are at odds with how tags are used in a lot of projects. The feature was designed for only a handful of tags, but we routinely see projects with hundreds if not thousands of tags. For this reason we’ll re-design the way tags are managed in Tropy – we’re working in but there’s no clear timeframe for when it will be released yet.
