Help! Showing "Failed to import item"

This is my first time Tropy, downloaded from the official website. I’m running on windows 11, I have reinstalled the C++ Redistributable but still doesn’t work. May I ask is there any way to fix this problem? Thanks a lot! Here is the error shown:

Curious, I have not seen this specific error before. Could you explain further what’s causing the error? It seems to happen when you import an item, but how are you doing that – drag and drop, via the plus icon in the UI, or the menu? And what file or URL are you importing? In this case, it could be caused by the file type in question, but also where the file is located (local disk, network share etc.).

Thank you so much for your reply! The image I tried was in PNG format, and I’ve attempted several methods: drag-and-drop, using the plus icon, importing via URL, accessing from and storing to OneDrive, as well as from and to a non-synced local disk. Unfortunately, all of these resulted in the same error.

Thankfully, I also have a MacBook Air (which I normally only use for portability), and I tested everything there — and it worked perfectly. Interestingly, after dragging the images into the Mac, I was able to modify the metadata on my Windows machine without issue. However, I still couldn’t import the image itself.

So it seems the problem lies specifically with importing the image — or even importing a link — on Windows. Thanks again for your support!!!
