Is there any preferred bibliographic details for citing Tropy, as the software itself, in an academic publication? I couldn’t seem to find a suggested citation format, although I have seen contributors listed on the Credits page (Credits | Tropy) and the Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media on the Licensing page (License | Tropy). Has anyone combined those details to cite the software, or are any particular formats preferable?
Good question! We’ll discuss this and then add a CITATION file to the repository. I’ll post an update here once we have it.

Many thanks for looking into this. As my publication deadline is coming closer, I was wondering whether there might be an update on this point?
Thanks!
Yes! We added a Citation.cff file to the repository so you can now easily grab either a BibTeX version or the reference in APA style from GitHub. If you use Zotero you should also be able to import the repository and then generate references based on the file.
