I am wondering it it is possible for images in subfolders of the watch folder to be automatically added to Tropy. This request is maybe somewhat similar to this one about subfolders, but I think I am asking for even less – I can sort out the lists and such myself later, it would just be nice to drag folders into my watch folder and not have to add them manually. Thank you for your consideration!
Hm, I think sub-folders should already be supported in watch folders. If I add a photo to a sub-folder then it gets imported just fine. But it doesn’t seem to work when dropping a folder with images – this is probably an issue related to the events fired by the file system (and the behavior could differ depending on platform / file system). We’ll take a look at this!
Aha, I understand that’s the expected behavior. On my end, if I add an image to a subfolder of the watch folder it’s not getting added.
Just to be sure, if you add the file in the same way to the main folder it works? Just to confirm that it’s not the method (e.g. drag/drop, copy/paste, move vs copy etc.) that’s causing the file to get missed.
Yes, that’s correct. I’m dragging/dropping in both cases, and it only gets recognized when I add it to the main folder.
