Issues importing pdf documents

Hello. I’ve recently encountered an issue importing pdfs into my project through the import function and drag and drop. The import will begin but remain stuck showing either the message “Importing items …” or “Importing 1 of 1”. I am able to load .png and other image files with no issue.

It is a larger file, but this has never been an issue before, and I am able to import some similar files with no problem.
