I’m trying to make a template for Russian archives, a pretty simple variation on the Generic Tropy template plus some additional fields. But when I make changes then close Settings, the changes don’t show when I try to use the template. I also can’t add any new ones after the first 8 fields - nothing happens when I try. If I close tropy, then reopen Settings and work on the template again, I can make changes, but again the changes don’t stick. And when I try to move around the fields, the Settings window crashes altogether, with an error message.
Thanks for reporting! We can reproduce the crash that happens when dragging the fields around (it should work if you’re re-ordering only one or two positions, depending on your screens size, but will crash when the window is scrolling too far). We’ll fix this in the next release!
But otherwise editing / saving changes seems to work fine? Also adding more than eight fields works fine. Is it possible that the items are still using the generic template?
If nothing else works, you can also export your template and post it here together with the fields you’re trying to add.
Editing changes seems fine in the moment, but every time I add something the bottom one or more disappear. It doesn’t seem to be saving reliably either. I’m attaching the template as it is and pasting in below what I want it to be:
