Searchable Notes

I have been using Tropy a couple weeks now and I really love how it brings together my transcriptions with the primary source. I used to use evernote to take notes and transcriptions but the app has been getting increasingly clunky, not to mention expensive, and it was never practical to drop images into the notes.

The only thing I miss about evernote is the ability to search for terms within the note itself. I would really love to see this implemented into Tropy. I deal with British Admiralty letters, which are sometimes individual letters but are more often a string of several enclosures or a 300pg bound collection from an entire naval station.

Could you give us an update about this, @inukshuk ? Any chance of being able to search within notes in the foreseeable future?

There’s no update for this, sorry. We’d generally want to enable searching within an item (not just notes), but this will be part of a major UI overhaul so it’s not something that will happen in the foreseeable future.
