Selection errors - Rotation?

I have images that I have made selections on. However, when I look at the thumbnails of the selections, they are in the wrong spots - the selection thumbnails show the image turned sideways. So, perhaps the coordinates of the selections are being applied to a sideways version of the image?

Before importing the images to Tropy, I did rotate them in MacOS using Preview.

Thoughts?

I suspect that the photos were rotated outside of Tropy after the selections were created. If changes are made to the photo by external programs, Tropy will detect those and update the photo itself, but the changes are not currently propagated to selections.

Thanks. I double checked - deleted the photo in Tropy, imported it again (already rotated) and the same phenomenon happens. Is it possible that Tropy has the image cached?

… because I did import it unrotated several iterations ago…

This has been “solved”. I’ve been rotating the images in the Preview app in Mac OS. I’ve discovered that it doesn’t really rotate the image - it just looks like it does. Really odd “feature”. Anyway, it’s not a Tropy issue. Sorry for the confusion. Thank you.
