Tropy crash during import

My Tropy crashes during the import of pictures (drag and drop), usually at the beginning of batches of 200+ pictures. A few examples:

  • importing 338 pictures it crashed at the 71st picture
  • importing 192 it crashed at the 57th
  • importing 390 it crashed at the 70th

In all three cases I restarted Tropy, selected the missing pictures and retransfered them; this time it worked fine until the last one.

Can you advise?

I attach the log.

Thanks! We had a similar issue on some Linux distributions, but I haven’t seen it on macOS. Just to be sure, at the end of this all the images were processed right? So it’s not an issue with one or more of the images. We’ll take a look at it!

Yes, after each crash the remaining of the images (many more than those processed before the crash) were processed fine. I’m running on macOS 12.7.6.

It can’t be due to the images being taken with an iPhone, right? I’m asking normally I take images with a classic camera…

Are the images HEIC or JPEG? In general, the error almost certainly happens in the bundled image libraries, so different formats or parameters could play a role.

Images are jpeg. I exported them from Photos to my desktop, reduced their size, renamed them and then imported them in Tropy.
