Tropy crashes when opening my project

Hi, I went to my open my project today and it comes up fine but after 2 seconds it pops up with ‘consolidating photo 1 of 1’ for about 3 seconds before it crashes.

This is what the log says:

Can anyone help me fix this? I’m not sure what version I have but I’m using a Mac with OS Big Sur 11.0.1.

Thank you!!

Can you try cancelling the consolidation (by clicking the closing icon next to the consolidating photo message)? If this prohibits the crash, my best guess is that the photo in question is the cause. Do you know which photo this is? Since Tropy starts the consolidation right away, it should be one of the photos on the first or second page in the project view that is missing a thumbnail. If you could share that photo with us we can hopefully figure out what is causing the crash.

If cancelling the consolidation does not stop the crash, could you try to see if another project works? For this, you can try closing the project before the crash. For example, by hitting Cmd+W to close the window and then open another project via Cmd+O or File -> Open in the menu. If you don’t have another project you can create a new one with Shift+Cmd+P or File -> New Project. If a new project works fine (in particular if you can import photos) then I’d also guess that photo getting consolidated in your main project is causing the crash. If it’s not obvious what photo that is, I’ll post more detailed instructions how to find out.
