View documents in a separate window

I often use a second (larger) screen to view my documents, it would be great to be able to “detach” the view pane (or notes!) into a separate window to set it up on different screens (synchronized as I scroll through the different documents).
This would allow everyone to configure their own workspace and it would help with accessibility on small screens.

I’ve found a request for this feature posted a while ago. ( Separate window for Image viewer - #3 by cocacolajojo ). Is there any development?

We’ve explored this a little bit last year: there is a new Web API in Chromium that would perfectly fit the purpose of breaking out individual UI elements into a separate window. Unfortunately this API isn’t currently supported on the platform on which Tropy is built. We’re tracking this upstream and if the API becomes available we’ll try to add this feature.
