I wonder where it’s best to place the Tropy application and folder for future synchronisation. When I upload Tropy, the application/icon lands on my laptop’s desktop. At the same time, I wanted to place the folder on the drive.
First, wouldn’t it cause any synchronisation issues if the app/icon is on the desktop while the folder is on a drive?
Second, wouldn’t it be best to place both the app/icon and the folder on the drive? If yes, how to do that, given that when I upload Tropy, the app/icon lands on the desktop right away.
Thanks!
By app/icon do you mean the application itself or a standard or advanced project file?
The application itself, the one that appears after the installation
On what operating system and how did you install Tropy? On macOS the app should not be on the desktop, typically it goes into the system-wide or user’s application folder.
On Windows and Linux if the app appears on the desktop that is likely a short-cut only (the app itself is not installed there).
Yes, it’s Windows. Given it is a short-cut, is it then safe to keep the short-cut on desktop and the folder on drive in case the laptop gets lost?
