I imported a large collection of photos from a series of nested folders on my computer and have been going through and adding metadata. I noticed that a small number of the photos are not visible in Item View. I have not moved the original photos or rearranged any of the original folders, and clicking on the file name under Metadata takes me back to the original folder. Does anyone know of anything else I can do to fix this? Thanks!
I think I’ve figured out what the problem is, in case it’s helpful to others. When the title of a folder where my photos are stored contains unusual characters, like a question mark, the image does not show up correctly in Item View (although I do see a thumbnail).
Yes, in particular # and ? can be problematic in the path (because the item view loads the image via a URL). Still, this is something Tropy should be able to work around automatically – we’ll take a look at this. Thanks for reporting!
