Hello, I updated Tropy to version 1.17 and it started to have problems in importing PDF files to my project, something that never happend before. Tried to import photos and works as usual, but with any PDF file it doesn’t. Saw a post here on the forum from someone facing the same thing, but didn’t work (Failed to import item)
Are you on Windows 11 or Windows 10? I suspect there is an issue in the linked dlls on 1.1.7 that handle loading PDF files. We’ll address this in the upcoming patch release.
Hi! I’ve got the same issu since the last Windows 11 update. Here the error message : {“msg”:“Échec de l’importation des objets.”,“stack”:“Error: Input buffer contains unsupported image format\n at Sharp.metadata (file:///C:/Users/106122/AppData/Local/tropy/app-1.17.0/resources/app.asar/lib/index-EDvgLNwN.js:3165:18)\n at Image.parse (file:///C:/Users/106122/AppData/Local/tropy/app-1.17.0/resources/app.asar/lib/project-old5LTR9.js:61009:32)\n at async Image.open (file:///C:/Users/106122/AppData/Local/tropy/app-1.17.0/resources/app.asar/lib/project-old5LTR9.js:60994:5)”,“system”:“Windows_NT 10.0.26100 (x64)”,“time”:1761818040227,“version”:“1.17.0”}
Thanks. I believe we’ve fixed the underlying issue with the dlls. If you’d like to help, it would be great to test the 1.17.1-beta.3 and let us know if importing PDFs works there. Please note that we don’t recommend using the beta builds with your actual projects.
It should download automatically, but you can also check for updates from the help menu. Sometimes the updater may get stuck when there are download issues, in that case it should work fine if you restart Tropy.
